before starting my career on the frontlines of oligarchy, i was a kid from glen allen, virginia — right outside of richmond

football was my first love. It taught me more than any classroom or degree could. plus, i got to eat whatever the hell i wanted; i miss that quite a bit. after 17 years, i retired upon graduating from william & mary. go tribe

truth be told, i didn’t know that i could write until the martin agency told me i could. as a “marty” intern i used to send a newsletter to the whole agency. every day, i put an hour aside to make it funny — or my genre of funny — and the feedback was positive. a copywriting career was born

martin is hq’d in richmond, my home city, and an hour away from my university. if you haven’t been to rva, it’s one of the weirdest places on earth. i f*cking loved every second of it. until… it got too small; too familiar. the weird wore off, and i made a leap of faith down to atlanta, georgia for my next career stop at chemistry, an indy shop

atlanta is my home now (atl hoe). i got a dog (AFOREMENTIONED) and we go to the park (piedmont). I love to grab a drink (soju) before i take a walk around the block (historic midtown). maybe i turned a little crazy when i moved here, because i got into running (marathons) (gross). if i’m not working or pounding pavement, i’m stimming on the piano (6 out of 10 at it) or enjoying the occasional cigarette (camel crush)
